A Bowl of Autumn Nourishment

Warming Root Vegetable & Red Lentil Soup

There is something so comforting about a bowl of homemade soup at this time of year.

As the days grow shorter and the air turns cooler, I naturally find myself reaching for warm, simple meals. Food that feels grounding, nourishing and easy to digest.

During our recent Āyurveda Autumn Reset, this root vegetable and red lentil soup was one of the recipes I shared with the group. Simple ingredients, warming spices and a little time in the kitchen. Nothing complicated, just good, wholesome food.

I wanted to share it with you too.

A Little Āyurvedic Wisdom

In Āyurveda, autumn is associated with Vāta, which carries the qualities of cold, dry, light and movement.

One of the ways we can support balance during this season is by introducing the opposite qualities: warmth, moisture, nourishment and regularity.

A freshly cooked soup is a lovely way to bring these qualities into our daily routine.

And perhaps the nourishment begins even before we sit down to eat, in the simple act of slowing down, preparing our ingredients and taking a little time to care for ourselves.

The Recipe

A comforting, gently spiced soup for cooler days.

More Than a Bowl of Soup

One of the things I love about Āyurveda is how it brings us back to the everyday.

We don't always need elaborate routines or dramatic changes. Sometimes nourishment is simply a warm meal, a moment of quiet, or choosing to slow down when life feels busy.

So whether you're making this soup for yourself or sharing it with someone you love, I hope it brings a little warmth and comfort to your day.

Ground. Nourish. Return.

With love,

Anax
